Cyclist Killed in Moraga Bicycle Accident on Moraga Road near Lucas Drive

Contra Costa County, California (November 26, 2021) – A bicyclist died after being struck by a vehicle Friday morning in Moraga, according to Moraga police.
At about 10:15 a.m., authorities responded to the 500 block of Moraga Road near Lucas Drive to investigate a report of a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a bike.
Police determined that the bicyclist was traveling in the area when a Honda hit them on Moraga Road near Lucas Drive.
Bicyclist Killed in Moraga Accident
First responders found the bicycle rider lying down in the center median in the road in front of Rheem Center. Despite life-saving measures performed by responding paramedics, the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Honda driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Both the bicyclist and the driver were adults. The name of the deceased person was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Both lanes of Moraga Road were shut down as the police investigated the accident.
