Rider Seriously Injured in Hayward Motorcycle Accident on 880 Freeway near W Tennyson Road On-Ramp
Hayward, California (August 3, 2022) – A motorcyclist suffered major injuries in a collision with a car Wednesday afternoon in Hayward, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident was reported at about 4:38 p.m. on southbound 880 Freeway, just south of the W Tennyson Road on-ramp.
A party in a white Acura MDX called authorities reporting that they were involved in a collision with a green Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Emergency personnel from Alameda County and Hayward fire departments responded to the scene.
Major Injuries Sustained in Hayward Motorcycle Accident
The Nos. 1 and 3 lanes were temporarily blocked before the firefighters moved the rider and the motorcycle from the roadway to the right-hand shoulder.
The motorcyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries, as per the report.
Investigators did not immediately determine the cause of the crash, but they are collecting more information.
