A 19-year-old Placerville man was riding a motorcycle in the area when he left the roadway and slammed into a signpost on the southern edge of the roadway

Georgetown, CA.- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash that took place near Georgetown on Saturday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck took place on Wentworth Springs Road and Balderston Road at about 2 p.m. June 21.
A 19-year-old Placerville man was riding a motorcycle in the area when he left the roadway and slammed into a signpost on the southern edge of the roadway.
The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased while being transported to a hospital.
No further details were released.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
