Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Interstate Route 15 in San Diego

, Calif. – A 25-year-old motorcyclist was after colliding with a vehicle on Interstate in San Diego early this month, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.

The San Diego County Medica Examiner's Office identified the rider as Robert Cole Sutton, 25, of San Diego.

On the night of Sunday, December 1, 2023, Robert Sutton was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Interstate Route 15 when he crashed into a Honda SUV stopped in the HOV lane after it had collided with two other vehicles.

Sutton was ejected from his motorcycle onto the roadway upon the impact.

A witness called 9-1-1 and law enforcement and fire personnel responded to the scene. Paramedics provided lifesaving measures while transporting Sutton by ambulance to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

Despite the lifesaving measures Sutton succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the emergency department.

According to the Medical Examiner, Sutton died of blunt force injuries of the trunk and extremities.
