A motorcyclist traveling northbound on Walnut Avenue at a high rate of speed failed to stop for a red light and crashed into an Acura SUV that had been going south on Walnut Avenue

Carmichael, CA – A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash at an intersection in Carmichael on Saturday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
The incident took place in the area of Walnut and Robertson avenues at about 10:45 a.m.
The CHP said a man in his 50s was riding a motorcycle northbound on Walnut Avenue at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop for a red light and crashed into an Acura SUV that had been going south on Walnut Avenue and was making a left turn at Robertson Avenue.
The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was killed in the incident.
The woman driving the Acura was not injured.
The crash is under investigation.
