Los Molinos, CA. – A motorcyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries after a traffic collision that happened Thursday afternoon south of Los Molinos.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 4:21 p.m. on Highway 99 near Sherman Street.
CHP officers and Cal Fire Tehama-Glenn Unit firefighters responded to the scene and found the male rider with both legs broken. The victim was transported to Enloe Health in Chico for treatment.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcyclist attempted to pass a white Chevrolet pickup truck pulling a trailer when he clipped the truck's front end.
The rider got ejected from the bike, which crashed through a residential fence.
The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt in the crash.
Traffic was reduced to one lane during the investigation.
