Motorcycle Rider Injured in Santa Ana Collision on I-5 Freeway near Garden Grove (22) Freeway
Santa Ana, California (June 13, 2022) – A motorcycle rider sustained major injuries in a collision that happened on the I-5 Freeway in Santa Ana on Monday morning, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
At around 7:37 a.m., a white Lincoln SUV drifted into the HOV southbound lane of the freeway illegally and collided with a motorcyclist near Garden Grove (22) Freeway.
The impact caused the motorcycle to fall onto the roadway.
The rider of the motorcycle sustained major injuries due to the impact of the crash.
At least two lanes were blocked by the involved vehicles while the motorcyclist landed in the carpool lane.
No other injuries were reported.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
