4 Injured in Chula Vista Crash on Orange Avenue

Chula Vista, California (September 11, 2021) – Multiple injuries were reported in a chain-reaction collision on Saturday afternoon in Chula Vista, according to authorities.
Just after noon Saturday, authorities said a white truck driver traveling west on Orange Avenue became distracted when he looked up at the red light and collided with a red Toyota.
The crash caused a chain-reaction involving four other vehicles that were stopped at the red light.

Four people were hospitalized following the accident. A 12-year-old boy who was a passenger in the red car was hospitalized with a compound wrist fracture.
The crash caused a closure of westbound Orange Avenue at Melrose Avenue as authorities worked at the scene.
The crash remained under investigation.
