Homeless Man Killed in National City Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 805 at State Route 54 Connection Ramp

National City, California (August 30, 2021) – A homeless man was struck and killed by several vehicles late Friday night in National City, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly pedestrian crash happened at about 11:10 p.m. Friday, August 27, on the northbound side of Interstate 805 at State Route 54 Connection Ramp.
A 40-year-old man, believed to be homeless in San Diego, was walking along the highway when, for unknown reasons, he was hit by multiple vehicles.
Pedestrian Hit, Killed in Interstate 5 Crash in National City
The man, whose name has not been released pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three of the four northbound lanes of Interstate 5 were closed following the wreck.
No further details about the crash were immediately given.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
