National City, CA: Pedestrian Dies after Being Struck by Multiple Vehicles on Interstate 805

, California (August 30, 2021) – A homeless man was struck and killed by several vehicles late Friday night in National City, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deadly crash happened at about 11:10 p.m. Friday, August 27, on the northbound side of at State Route 54 Connection Ramp.

A 40-year-old man, believed to be homeless in , was walking along the highway when, for unknown reasons, he was hit by multiple vehicles.

Pedestrian Hit, Killed in Interstate 5 Crash in National City

The man, whose name has not been released pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three of the four northbound lanes of were closed following the wreck.

No further details about the crash were immediately given.

The CHP is investigating the accident.
