Nicole Lawson Dies in Santa Barbara Accident on Painted Cave Road
Santa Barbara, California (July 30, 2022) – Nicole Lawson, 45, was killed in a suspected DUI collision on Painted Cave Road in Santa Barbara on Saturday night, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.
The wreck happened just north of Highway 154 at around 10 p.m. on July 23.
Authorities said Lawson was walking in the area when a vehicle struck her.
Lawson was killed in the accident.
The driver, Daniel J. Zuzinec, 37, of Santa Barbara, reportedly experienced a medical emergency.
Zuzinec was taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of his injuries, and later arrrested.
He was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on multiple charges including DUI causing injury and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
