1 Killed, Another Hospitalized after Nipton Car Crash on 15 Freeway near Yates Well Road On-Ramp
Nipton, California (April 18, 2022) – One person was killed, and another was hospitalized after a traffic collision that happened Monday morning in Nipton, the California Highway Patrol said.
The wreck was reported at about 5:53 a.m. on southbound 15 Freeway, just south of the Yates Well Road on-ramp.
A gray Honda Civic and another vehicle collided for unknown reasons.
Firefighters responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the collision.

At least four people were involved in the accident. The firefighters extricated an unknown number of parties who were trapped in the wreckage.
One occupant in the Honda, identified only as a 33-year-old Petaluma resident, was pronounced dead at the scene by the firefighters. A coroner representative responded to the scene following the deadly crash.
One of the drivers was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
Caltrans closed all southbound lanes during the rescue operation and an on-scene investigation.
CHP officers are investigating the cause of the collision.
