Oakland, CA: At Least 1 Seriously Injured in Multi-Car Crash on Highway 24

, California (March 11, 2022) – At least one person sustained major injuries in a multi-vehicle collision that took place Thursday afternoon in Oakland, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At around 3:08 p.m., three vehicles collided on eastbound Highway 24, just east of the Broadway off-ramp.

The collision involved a white Tesla, a silver 2-door sedan, and a third vehicle. The sedan acquired a broken rear axle and major front-end damage. The crash left multiple traffic lanes blocked.

Firefighters had to travel the wrong way from the Broadway on-ramp to access the crash scene.

The report said the accident resulted in major injuries. At least one person sustained a broken leg. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital.

Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
