60-Year-Old Person Killed in Oceanside Crash at Jefferson Avenue and Highway 78
Oceanside, California (October 19, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Tuesday afternoon traffic accident that killed a 60-year-old motorist and left two other people injured in Oceanside.
The deadly two-vehicle accident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. at Jefferson Avenue and state Route 78.
According to the police, a southbound 2006 Lexus allegedly ran a red light at Jefferson Avenue and state Route 78 at high speed.
Unfortunately, the Lexus reportedly went crashing into a 2000 Toyota 4Runner and a light pole.

Sadly, the 60-year-old driver of the Lexus who was not wearing a seatbelt was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other parties in the Toyota sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
