47-Year-Old Driver Killed in Olancha Crash on U.S. 395 near Ash Creek Road

Olancha, California (March 27, 2022) – A 47-year-old driver was killed in a Wednesday night big rig accident in Olancha, authorities said.
The crash occurred at about 8:58 p.m. on March 23, on U.S. 395, south of Ash Creek Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2021 Hyundai Elantra, operated by the 47-year-old driver, was headed southbound on the roadway when it collided with a 2012 Freightliner truck on the east shoulder of U.S. 395.
As a result of the crash impact, the Elentra's driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected onto the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The semi-truck's driver, a 41-year-old Van Nuys resident, was not injured in the mishap.
More details regarding the collision were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
