Man Dies in Madera County Collision on Highway 99 near Highway 152

County, California (December 11, 2021) – One person died in a traffic crash in Madera County on Friday night, according to authorities.

The incident took place on near Highway 152 at about 6 p.m. December 10.

CHP said a man driving a minivan stopped on the side of the highway to check on the back of the vehicle.

Shortly after, a northbound driver in a pickup swerved onto the shoulder and struck the man and the minivan.

The driver of the minivan died at the scene.

The operator of the truck reportedly had minor injuries.

Two women who were passengers in the were expected  be ok.

CHP said impairment was not suspected to be a factor in the incident.

The crash is under investigation.
