Multiple vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of the freeway near National Avenue
San Diego, Calif. – One person was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision that happened Thursday afternoon on 5 Freeway in San Diego.
The California Highway Patrol said the pileup occurred around 1:10 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway just north of National Avenue.
About five vehicles were involved in the accident. One car reportedly overturned in the crash.
Firefighters responded to the scene to help the motorists.
One person was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego with unspecified injuries.
CHP officers are investigating the collision.
