, CA. – One person died in a traffic collision involving a possible moped Wednesday morning on a connector road in Oakland, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. on the eastbound 80 Freeway to the southbound 880 Freeway connector.

CHP said a possible moped collided with at least one vehicle under unclear circumstances. The report also said a big rig involved in the crash left the scene.

Two US Coast Guards at the scene pronounced one person dead at the scene.

No other details were given but an investigation is ongoing.
