, Calif. – One person died in a accident that happened Monday evening on a freeway in LA's Sun Valley neighborhood, the California Highway Patrol said.

The collision was reported around 6:31 p.m. on the northbound , just north of Tuxford Street.

Reportedly, a pedestrian wearing a hoodie and sweatpants was walking in traffic lanes when they were hit by a vehicle.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.

There was no description of the vehicle involved and whether the driver stopped after the collision.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
