Winchester, CA. – One person was severely hurt in a head-on collision that happened Tuesday evening in Winchester.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash transpired around 8:44 p.m. on State Route 79 near Stowe Road.

A black Saturn Vue and another car collided head-on under unclear circumstances.

A male occupant in one of the vehicles went unconscious after the crash.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported one person to the hospital with serious injuries.

Both vehicles were towed away with front-end damage.

Authorities are investigating the collision.
