A car was stopped at a red light at the intersection when it was rear-ended by another vehicle.

Brawley, CA. – One person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision that happened Tuesday afternoon at an intersection in Brawley, the California Highway Patrol said.
The wreck took place around 1:30 p.m. on northbound State Route 86 at West Keystone Road.
The crash involved a silver Kia and a tan BMW.
Authorities said a female driver of one of the cars was stopped for a red light at the intersection when she was rear-ended by the other driver.
AMR responded to the scene to help the motorists.
One person sustained an open fracture on the right foot. The patient was transported by ground ambulance to Pioneers Memorial Hospital, from where they were airlifted to another hospital for treatment.
The Kia was towed away with front-end damage.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
