1 Injured in High-Speed, DUI Ontario Crash on Interstate 10 near Interstate 15
Ontario, California (March 15, 2022) – At least one person was hospitalized after a high-speed DUI car crash that happened Monday night in Ontario, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at about 8:40 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 10 at Interstate 15.
As per the report, a red Dodge Charger with a female driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when it collided with a blue Chevrolet pickup truck. Debris from the crash was scattered in the middle lanes.
A passenger in the Charger, identified as the father of the female driver, sustained unspecified injuries. One of the drivers also suffered unknown injuries. AMR responded to the scene and transported the driver to Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center for treatment.
The report also said that the injured driver was driving under the influence of alcohol. That motorist was arrested on suspicion of DUI and DUI with a BAC exceeding 0.08 percent.
Some traffic lanes were temporarily closed to allow investigators to work the scene and debris to be cleared.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
