Driver Critically Injured in Orange Train Accident Saturday afternoon at Main Street and West Alvarez Avenue
Orange, California (February 12, 2022) – A driver was critically injured in a collision between a train and a car in an Orange intersection, according to the Orange Police Department.
The crash happened a little after 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and West Alvarez Avenue.
Police said the train struck a Nissan SUV at the intersection under unclear circumstances.
The male driver of the SUV, that vehicle's sole occupant, was ejected from the car and landed onto the sidewalk. Responding paramedics took him to a hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
Main Street was blocked in both directions from West Collins Avenue to West Alvarez Avenue following the wreck.
The crash remains under investigation.
