Tiffany Ann Peterson died in a crash involving a small blue pickup truck and a heavy-duty forklift at Skyway Drive and Hangar Street.

Santa Maria, CA. – 39-year-old Tiffany Ann Peterson of Orcutt was the woman who died Thursday afternoon when a pickup truck collided with a forklift at an intersection in Santa Maria, the Santa Maria Police Department Traffic Bureau said.
The wreck occurred in the 3000 block of Skyway Drive at Hangar Street near the Santa Maria Airport.
Police said Peterson was a passenger in a small blue pickup truck driven by her father, Charles Peterson, when it collided with the prongs of a heavy-duty forklift at the intersection.
Emergency personnel pronounced Petterson dead at the scene.
81-year-old David Baskett was driving the rented forklift at the time of the accident. He was questioned by police but was not arrested.
The pickup sustained crash damage on the cab and windshield.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
