Oscar Anguiano Hospitalized after 405 Freeway Collision near Seal Beach Boulevard in Seal Beach
Seal Beach, California (November 14, 2021) – Oscar Anguiano, 39, of Garden Grove, was seriously injured Saturday night after being involved in a deadly car crash in Seal Beach, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 11:52 p.m. Saturday, November 13, on the southbound side of 405 Freeway near Seal Beach Boulevard.
The CHP said Anguiano was driving a 2014 Volkswagen at a high rate of speed when he collided with a 2000 Honda. The Honda caught fire upon the impact.
Deadly Car Crash on 405 Freeway in Seal Beach
Firefighters who responded to the scene extinguished the flames from the Honda.
Two occupants of the Honda were declared dead at the scene. Their names have not been released pending notification of their respective families.
Anguiano sustained major injuries and was taken to UCI Medical Center for medical treatment.
Authorities believed Anguiano might have been driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the accident. It was not immediately clear if he was booked into custody.
The southbound lanes of 405 Freeway were closed following the crash. As of 3:30 a.m., Sunday, all lanes were reopened to traffic.
The crash remains under investigation.
