18-Year-Old Driver Killed in Palmdale Car Accident on 20th Street East near Avenue R-12
Palmdale, California (July 21, 2022) – An 18-year-old man was killed in an early Sunday morning collision that occurred on 20th Street East and Avenue R-12 in Palmdale, according to the Palmdale Sheriff Station.
The wreck occurred at around 4:20 a.m. on July 17, when a 25-year Palmdale woman was heading north on 20th Street East in a 2018 Dodge Durango.
The Durango collided with a 2014 Ford Fusion that was trying to turn left from Avenue R-12 onto southbound 20th Street.
Authorities said the impact of the collision pushed the Ford into a wall.
An 18-year-old man from Palmdale, who was driving the Ford, died in the wreck.
The driver of the Durango was taken to Antelope Valley Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.
The crash caused a closure of 20th Street East for several hours as authorities worked to clear the scene.
The cause of the deadly Palmdale accident is under investigation.
