Patricia Jelen ID'd as Woman Killed in Mendocino County Accident on Albion Ridge Road
Mendocino County, California (February 22, 2022) – The woman who was killed in a head-on crash in Mendocino County on Saturday afternoon has been identified as Patricia “Sis” Jelen, 63, of Albion, according to a local news source.
The crash happened when a 2010 Toyota Rav4 heading east on the Albion Ridge Road drifted over the solid yellow lines and crashed head-on into an oncoming 2020 Honda Accord.
Authorities received a report of the collision at about 3:52 p.m. February 19, west of Road H.
Patricia Jelen Killed in Mendocino County Crash on Albion Ridge Road
Jelen was a passenger in the Accord and was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.
A 25-year-old Martinez man driving the Accord suffered minor injuries. Two other passengers in the Accord, a 66-year-old Albion woman, and a 28-year-old Martinez man, were taken to hospital for treatment of major injuries.
The operator of the Toyota, a 24-year-old Albion man, sustained minor injuries and sought own treatment.
The crash caused a closure of Albion Ridge Road for hours.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
