Woman Killed in Palmdale Car Crash on Sierra Highway near Technology Drive
Palmdale, California (January 1, 2022) – Authorities said 61-year-old Paula Scott was the passenger killed when two vehicles collided head-on Friday afternoon in Palmdale.
The Palmdale woman died at the scene of the crash that happened at about 5:30 p.m. on Sierra Highway at the railroad tracks just south of Technology Drive.
Investigators said a car with the driver as the sole occupant was northbound on Sierra Highway when it crossed the double yellow lines and collided head-on with another.
Scott was a passenger in the second car and died of her injuries on the spot.
Both drivers were hospitalized with unspecified injuries.
Authorities said they suspect alcohol to have played a role.
An investigation is ongoing.
