The patient was rushed to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead

Loma Linda, Calif. – A male pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle by a vehicle on Newport Avenue in Loma Linda on Monday, January 1, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The deadly pedestrian crash happened at about 6:03 a.m. on Newport Avenue at Barton Avenue.
Deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene and found a 77-year-old White male who had been struck by a vehicle.
The patient was rushed to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The victim's name is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.
The crash remains under investigation.
