Man Injured in Pittsburg Accident on Buchanan Road near Meadows Avenue
Pittsburg, California (January 20, 2022) – A pedestrian was struck and critically injured by a suspected DUI driver in Pittsburg on Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities.
The victim was hit just after 4:00 p.m. January 18, on Buchanan Road east of Meadows Avenue.
Police said the pedestrian had parked his vehicle along the side of Buchanan Road and as he tried to cross the road, he was hit by a vehicle traveling westbound.

Medical crews and firefighters responded to the scene and attended to the pedestrian, who sustained critical injuries.
The victim was then airlifted to a hospital for further treatment.
The driver who struck the pedestrian reportedly showed signs of recent use of drugs. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injury.
The crash led to the closure of Buchanan Road for several hours as the authorities investigated the incident.
