A man was struck by a car whose driver failed to stop to render aid Thursday afternoon on Vineland Avenue

North Hollywood, California: A man was struck and killed by a car while he attempted to cross a street Thursday afternoon in North Hollywood.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the hit-and-run collision was reported around 1:05 p.m. on Vineland Avenue, north of Vanowen Street.
Police said a white sedan was traveling north on Vineland, and a man in his 60s or 70s was attempting to cross the street in the middle of a block outside a crosswalk.
The sedan hit the pedestrian and continued north on Vineland Avenue without stopping.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by responding Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.
The Los Angeles Police Department is looking for the suspect driver.
