Authorities said the crash was reported around 5 a.m. on the F Street on-ramp to northbound Interstate 5, next to State Route 94.
According to the report, a pedestrian was struck by a car in the area under unclear circumstances.
San Diego firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene.
The pedestrian died from injuries sustained in the collision.
