San Diego, CA. – One person died in a pedestrian accident that happened Tuesday night on Interstate 5 in San Diego, the California Highway Patrol said.
Authorities said the accident took place around 11:32 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the interstate near Palm Avenue.
The report said a pedestrian was hit by a car, possibly a Toyota Matrix, for an unknown reason.
The victim died in the crash.
Caltrans responded to the scene and blocked traffic on the southbound I-5 off-ramp to Palm Avenue and westbound and eastbound on Palm Avenue to southbound I-5.
