Santa Maria, CA. – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday night at an intersection in Santa Maria, authorities said.
Santa Maria police, firefighters, and AMR personnel responded to the intersection of North Broadway and Orchard Street after receiving reports of a pedestrian hit by a car.
The responders found a pedestrian lying in the southbound lanes of Broadway with critical injuries.
An AMR ambulance transported the victim to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment. The pedestrian later died while receiving treatment.
The car driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Police said alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be contributing factors.
