The accident was reported around 4:56 p.m. at Center Street NE and High Street NE.
A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection under unclear circumstances.
Emergency personnel transported the victim to the hospital with significant injuries.
Salem police officers closed the intersection until around 8:20 p.m. while investigating.
