, Ariz. – A woman was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident in Phoenix early Friday morning, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The incident took place at about 6:30 a.m. near 41st Street and Indian School Road.

Police said a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle near the intersection under unclear circumstances.

The victim, only identified as a woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Both directions of Indian School Road were shut down in the area as authorities investigated the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
