Michael Pont was struck by a 4-door Chevy sedan while crossing the intersection in unclear circumstances

Victorville, Calif. – The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner has identified the pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Amethyst Road on Friday night as Michael Pont, 42, of Apple Valley.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Pont was pronounced dead at the scene.

Victorville, Calif. – A pedestrian was fatally injured in a crash on Amethyst Road in Victorville Friday night.
According to the Victorville Fire Department, the wreck happened at around 8:01 p.m. on Amethyst Road and Ironstone Avenue.
A Chevy 4-door sedan struck a pedestrian while crossing the intersection in unclear circumstances.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving measures.
The driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers.
More information about the wreck was not provided.
An investigation is underway.
