Menifee, CA – A driver and a pedestrian were injured after two vehicles collided on Highway 74 in Menifee Sunday evening, according to the Menifee Police Department.
The accident happened just before 7 p.m. on May 18 on Highway 74 at Third Street.
The Menifee Police Department said a Ford Windstar was traveling eastbound on the four-lane corridor of Highway 74 when the driver attempted to make a left-hand turn to head northbound on Third Street and collided with a southbound Nissan.
Upon the impact, the Nissan was pushed onto the sidewalk where it struck a pedestrian.
The Riverside County Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and found the pedestrian with major head trauma.
The unidentified male pedestrian was transported to a regional trauma center for treatment and where he listed in stable condition Monday morning.
The Nissan driver was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The drive was treated and released from the hospital overnight.
No one else was injured in the incident.
The accident remains under investigation.
