Wilmington, California (August 24, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Monday morning traffic accident that killed a female and left five other people injured in Wilmington.

The deadly accident occurred at about 10:50 a.m., on August 23, in the 1000 block of North Wilmington Boulevard.

According to the officials, a white Toyota allegedly ran a red light and T-boned a black Chevrolet Tahoe, causing that vehicle to lose control and strike a woman crossing the street

The female pedestrian was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Five people who were in the two vehicles were injured in the accident and were hospitalized for treatment.

More details regarding the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
