A man was crossing Buck Owens Boulevard when he was reportedly struck by a white hatchback whose driver did not stop to render aid.

Bakersfield, CA – A man is dead after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver Saturday night in northwest Bakersfield, the city's police department said.
The incident happened around 9:21 p.m. on Buck Owens Boulevard near Gilmore Avenue.
Bakersfield police said a man was crossing the street outside a crosswalk when he was hit by a white hatchback.
The driver of the car fled the scene before first responders arrived.
Police officers found the pedestrian with serious injuries. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
