1 Killed in Highway 101 Pedestrian Accident at Vine Street in Hollywood
Los Angeles, California (October 28, 2021) – A person died after being struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning in Los Angeles.
The freak accident was reported at about 4:30 a.m. on Hollywood (101) Freeway at the Vine Street off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A vehicle reportedly ran off the freeway, crashed through a series of trees and finally crashed into a building on Vine Street.
The Los Angeles Police Department patrol units who responded to the incident confirmed that a pedestrian had been struck by the vehicle. The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was hospitalized in an unknown condition.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
