Bakersfield, CA – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Bakersfield on Thursday night, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
The crash was reported at about 8:40 p.m. July 4, in the area of 24th and Oak streets.
Police said a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in the area under unclear circumstances.
The victim died in the accident.
The crash caused the closure of 24th Street as authorities investigated the incident.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
