Woman Killed in Lompoc Accident on West Ocean Avenue

Lompoc, California (July 31, 2022) – A woman was killed in a crash involving a suspected DUI driver in Lompoc early Saturday morning, according to the Lompoc Police Department.
The incident happened at around 1:49 a.m. on July 30, in the 600 block of West Ocean Avenue.
Police said a 42-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle in the area for unspecified reasons.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the victim down on the side of the road with major injuries.
The woman was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police arrested the involved motorist on charges of DUI and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
A section of West Ocean Avenue was shut down as investigators worked at the scene.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
