One person died in a collision involving a big rig on Highway 99 near Avenue 9 in Madera
Madera, CA. – One person was killed in a car accident that happened in Madera on Thursday afternoon.
The fatal collision happened on northbound Highway 99 near Avenue 9 at around 12:16 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Multiple vehicles including a sedan and a big rig were involved in the accident.
According to the report, a car hauler was stopped on the side of the highway when another big rig traveling north veered onto the shoulder and sideswiped the car hauler
A pedestrian who may have been working under the car hauler was also struck.
The pedestrian was killed in the accident.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
