1 Killed in Orangevale Pedestrian Crash on Greenback Lane

Orangevale, Calif. – A pedestrian was killed in a motorcycle collision in Orangevale on Friday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident took place on Greenback Lane, west of Hazel Avenue at about 10:20 p.m. January 12.

The CHP said a 35-year-old man from Citrus Heights was riding a motorcycle at a high rate of speed in the area when he hit a pedestrian who was pushing a shopping cart.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle by the impact of the crash.

The pedestrian died in the accident while the motorcyclist was taken to a hospital with major injuries.

It's unclear whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
