Pedestrian Killed in Bakersfield Crash on Union Avenue and Brundage Lane

Bakersfield, CA.- A pedestrian was killed in an accident that led to the arrest of one of the two drivers involved on Monday night in Bakersfield, according to the authorities.

The crash happened on Union Avenue and Brundage Lane at around 9:30 p.m. December 9.

The Bakersfield Police Department reported that a pedestrian was walking outside of the crosswalk when he was hit by a Toyota Scion traveling southbound on Union Avenue.

The Toyota driver fled from the scene after the accident.

The pedestrian was then struck by a Ram pick-up .

The victim, whose name was not immediately released, died at the scene.

The driver of the Ram also left the scene but later came back and cooperated with the authorities.

Police later located and arrested the first driver. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
