Bakersfield, Calif. – A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle in at an intersection in Bakersfield on Thursday night.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the accident took place in the area of Cottonwood and E. Pacheco roads at about 8:30 p.m.
Police said the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle under unclear circumstances.
The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with major injuries.
The northbound and southbound lanes of Cottonwood Road were shut down as authorities investigated the crash.
