San Diego, CA. – A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Thursday night on State Route 163 in San Diego, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The accident took place just before 10 p.m. near Washington Boulevard.
Authorities said the pedestrian was hit by a white Kia under unclear circumstances. The victim was lying down next to the car on the right shoulder.
San Diego firefighters responded to the scene and blocked several traffic lanes.
The pedestrian was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego with unknown injuries.
CHP officers are investigating the collision.
