Riverside County, Calif. – A pedestrian died Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a Metrolink train as he walked along tracks at a Riverside intersection, according to the Riverside Police Department.
The crash happened at about 3 p.m. on March 19 at the intersection of Washington Street and the Riverside (91) Freeway.
According to the police department, the emergency crews with the Riverside Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the pedestrian dead.
The train operator remained at the scene following the incident. No one on the train was injured.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
