2 Injured in Sunday Afternoon Redding Crash on Churn Creek Road near Commercial Way

Redding, California (May 22, 2022) – Two people were hurt in a Redding crash that happened Sunday afternoon involving a pickup truck and a sedan, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The rollover wreck occurred at about 5:30 p.m. in the 5490 block of Churn Creek Road near Commercial Way.
CHP said a Dodge 1500 collided with an unknown sedan under unclear circumstances. The Dodge overturned onto its roof on the north shoulder. Debris from the collision was scattered in the roadway.

A party reporting the accident advised authorities that one person sustained a leg injury and another was bleeding from the head.
Firefighters responded to the scene and confirmed that the crash resulted in major injuries. The injured parties were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The pickup acquired rollover damage and the sedan major front-end damage. Both vehicles were towed away from the scene.
Both lanes of Churn Creek remained blocked for an unknown period following the incident.
