Randall Pockrus Among 2 Injured in Chico Crash on Highway 99 and Esplanade

, California (April 1, 2022) – Randall Pockrus, 63, was among two people injured in a suspected DUI collision that happened Wednesday afternoon in Chico, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck happened on and Esplanade at about 2:30 p.m. March 30.

CHP said 39-year-old Ronald Rodarte was operating a Hyundai Elantra when he stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Esplanade.

He then pulled into the path of a Ford Taurus driven southbound on Highway 99 by Pockrus.

Pockrus' vehicle spun in the intersection while the Hyundai drifted off the side and slammed into a chain-link fence.

The crash left Pockrus with moderate injuries.

A passenger in the Ford, 67-year-old Janica Clyde, sustained minor injuries.  

Rodarte was believed to have been driving while drunk. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

The CHP is conducting an investigation into the incident.
